Habitual Traffic Offender License Revocations

In Florida, Habitual Traffic Offender (HTO) status is a designation used by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to revoke a person’s driver’s license for a period of five years.

This revocation may occur due to a number of different factors, but the most common occurrence is when you enter a plea of Guilty or No Contest to three charges of Driving While License Suspended within a 5-year period.

You may be eligible to receive a hardship or “business purpose” license to drive to and from work even if you have been classified as a habitual traffic offender, however you will not be eligible for this benefit for the first year after your license has been revoked, or within 12 months of the date of receiving your last traffic citation.

If you are not eligible or denied for a hardship license, you must wait the full five years before petitioning the DMV again for restoration of your driving privileges.

However, in many cases there are strategies that can be employed to restore your driving privileges and get you back driving again without waiting the full year for a hardship license, or the full five years for a regular license.

The attorneys at the Ticket & License Center have vast experience in dealing with Habitual Traffic Offender revocations and have successfully removed this kind of revocation completely for hundreds of clients. We work very quickly and effectively using our considerable knowledge, expertise and experience to allow our clients to get a full license once again, and without the need to buy expensive insurance or to complete expensive and time consuming classes.
